two other cons I should mention by irony 12/23/2012, 4:24pm PST
the game is a bit unstable. it looks beautiful but it's a resource hog naturally, and I had it crash twice.

also the friendly AI pathfinding is horrible, and you will frequently end up waiting for your squad to catch up, sometimes they never bother to try. they're good shots and can supply a lot of effective firepower if the enemies are already nearby, the problem is getting everyone there.

they weren't game breakers in the demo, but if they get worse in the full game it might get intolerable.

there are also on foot fps sequences, and these might be the worst part of the game. the gunplay is aggressively mediocre, borderlands style. there's no reloading, no grenades, no sprinting from cover to cover, no bullet time, no sniper rifles or m1 garands, just get out of your vehicle and run over to this other vehicle. it's actually not a bad way to add a little extra variety to the gameplay, but just don't expect it to measure up to any modern fps.

there's still a lot of other good things that are so numerous I couldn't even go into detail about it so here's a video.
