He had me fooled with AI war because RTS isn't my forte and they were talking about multi-core AI routines and other impressive sounding stuff.
Then Tidalis came out and I was unimpressed but I'm not a huge puzzle gamer either.
Then he made the mistake of creating an action game "A Valley Without Wind" and the facade shattered. He promised a modern remix of Actraiser and delivered a horrible unfocused mess of a game. Even the overhaul sequel with more "focused design" was still crap.
As I can tell it's an irritatingly complex math problem of how do you equalize the offensive output of the two factions, then how do you handle random crisis variables that threaten to throw off that balance? Then throw in terrible art with zero animation to guarantee there's zero wow factor to playing god in this game.
BORING!
Drox Operative may have inspired this game, but it ain't even in Drox's league.
Have you tried Drox yet, Fabs? |
