| How do you feel about the continued racism and oppression inflicted on direct descendants of those tribes by the current population today in every damn country south of the US/Mexico border? Ask any citizen of Mexico/Guatamala/Honduras/Venezuala/etc. if they're of native extraction, and you'll be lucky if all you get is a withering look. They hate their native countrymen. Maybe work on fixing that before wringing your hands over a game that doesn't even implement a smallpox-ridden-blanket mechanic.
But FIRST, you'll need to come to terms with the oppressive and often violent hegemonies embodied by the Aztec, Inca, and Maya empires, and how they ruthlessly wiped out any neighboring culture with whom they came into contact and could conquer or absorb. Or, maybe just accept that humans in general are pretty universally shitty to each other and always have been, and the conquistadors were no worse than most other conquering nations, and better than many. Really though, how can you expect us to feel any sympathy or respect for a nation that can't even put together a proper pyramid? |
