The story and level design leave much to be desired and "proud souls" experience system is total bullshit. If you're willing to dig a little to find the gameplay depth jewel in the muck, here's some video primers to advanced DMC4 play that will help you on your way: This last one could be considered a little spoiler-riffic. Basically the real purpose of Nero's arm isn't grabbing enemies from afar or finishing move grab attacks. It's for counterattacks. Especially during the Credo Boss battle (aka Nelo Angelo v.2).
