In Saints Row 3, until STAG showed up the gangs were arguably nastier than the police. The worst thing the police could throw at you was a conventional tank which was easily trashed by a drone strike which you unlocked by the end of the first open-world mission.
Gangs were a lot nastier. You could easily step out your front door at the beginning of the game, rack up a 5-star rating with a gang, and get pummeled to death by one of those gigantic guys, or shot by a sniper from a helicopter, or killed by a ninja goth girl in a blue skirt.
In Saints Row IV, there are no gangs, just Zin. And they gradually ramp up the types of enemies you face as you get deeper and deeper into the game, not unlike having STAG running loose after the midpoitn of Saints Row 3.
I've only gotten to the point where I've rescued Matt, but based on some of the "Murderbots" I had to kill t oget to him I'm hoping that they'll introduce nastier opponents soon much like STAG. |
