| Insanity is the inability to distinguish what is real from what is not.
A message you do not agree with is not evidence of insanity. A message you do not like is not evidence of insanity. A message you feel is off-topic is not evidence of insanity. A joke you don't get or don't like is not evidence of insanity. Thinking in a different way than you do as long as the person recognizes reality is not evidence of insanity. There are two very good definitions of insanity. Statements that make no sense at all, and doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. And I did something different and got very similar results, proving not my insanity, but yours. You are the one who seems to be unable to understand what the world is, and what people say, and how they think, and as a result, if what someone else says doesn't fit in with your little, tiny, pre-computed and compartmentalized representation of the world - whether what you believe in has any basis in reality - that response is, in your narrow and warped world, evidence of insanity. If you want to argue insanity, let's sit down and go over the entire joke piece by piece, and you show me where it has no basis in reality and does not represent anything that could ever happen or that it does not represent a joke. And for every person you can find who is so warped and twisted that they have the same misguided misunderstanding of the human condition and human existence, I'm sure I can find ten who will show that you and they haven't the slightest idea what the fuck you're talking about. So let's not talk about insanity, because I think you're the one who's showing he's a few fries short of a happy meal. This is why I said, you were dead to me before, and you're nothing but the equivalent of a zombie walking around moaning "insane" instead of "brains". All of the following questions can be answered either yes or no without equivalization. So let's start. Do DVDs exist, yes or no? Does an individual named Rick Astley exist, yes or no? If he does exist, is this person mortal and capable of dying, yes or no? If he does exist, does this person have hands, yes or no? if he does exist, is he capable of holding a DVD, yes or no? Does a movie called "Up" exist, yes or no? If this movie exists, has this movie been released on DVD, yes or no? Is there a performing group called "The Who", yes or no? Is there a TV program on named "CSI Miami," yes or no? If that program exists, is there a character on the program named Horatio, yes or no? If that program exists, is there a character on the program named Frank, yes or no? If that program exists, does it normally show a dead person during the opener, yes or no? If that program exists, is one of the things that normally happens during the opener is that Horatio takes off his sunglasses and makes a pity quote about the deceased, yes or no? If that program exists, does it normally, after the remark by Horatio, cut to a scene where there is a scream from a performance by the group, "The Who", yes or no? Note that the use of logic, to ask questions of the world or of a condition, in order to examine it, is the antithesis of insanity. If every one of these questions can be answered, "yes," then clearly the joke is a form of parody - it pokes fun at the CSI:Miami opening - it is grounded in reality, and it is not "insane" to reference it. Unless you can legitimately answer at least one of these questions "no" then you have no grounds to argue the joke has no basis in reality. Until you can answer at least one of these "no" and the answer is in fact valid, your claims of insanity show nothing but your own lack of intelligence and inability to reason or to recognize reality, i.e. evidence that perhaps you yourself are insane. So, to quote the character Fletcher from the movie The Outlaw Josie Wales, "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining." |
