Okay, addressing your points one at a time:

I said quite clearly in my second post that I wasn't trolling, the people who said "troll" were uncertain whether I really was one, and just as many people were being "Yes, and..." and moving the discussion forward. An actual troll would post something like "QC SUKZ MY DIKK!!!!!" followed by an ASCII penis ejaculating. I was clarifying details about the psychological study I was referencing. QC touches on some pretty heavy subjects and that should lead to some really interesting and eye-opening discussion in the forums. But if these forums are overseen by admins with hair-trigger ban hammers who shut down conversations when people are kind of iffy on whether someone is trolling, how [i]can[/i] it be anything but 90% twee caption contests?

As for the pronoun issue, I will readily admit being unclear on the subject, so I hedged my bets with "his/her." I'm going to hazzard a guess here and say that YOU are not trans and are just being outraged vicariously. Maybe my awkward use of pronouns did victimize the trans members of this forum, maybe it didn't, but you froze the needle at "victimizing" when you locked that discussion. Maybe the trans members are better than pronouns and could have replied, "It's just 'her,' dickhead," then I would say "whoops, my bad!" and the discussion could continue. Maybe they had a really scathing retort that would shock me into checking my privilege and expanding my horizons. We'll never know because when you locked that thread you gagged them just as much as you gagged me. Can you really imagine a hip youngster who's into quirky webcomics saying, "wow, that arbitrary authority figure took away my ability to express myself, I'm really going to examine my beliefs and change my worldview into one that hews better to the authority figures'!" Is that seriously what you expected to happen?
