The freezing bits are usually at night (unless you're on a moon or frozen planet), so it's really just a sign for you to warp back up to your spaceship and unload. I see some people with 100+ hours in it already, and I really just don't get HOW since you're able to beat all the bosses and get the best armor in maybe 10. I guess people are playing it like Terraria and trying to make little houses to live in, but there's really no point (aside from Lego-ing it up) since you have a mothership and there's no way to bind yourself to a bed like in Terraria.
Planet exploration is really fun, though, and maybe playing online makes it all that much better, but right now features are slowly trickling in, so it might be a while before it surpasses some other Lego builder games. They also plan on doing 1 more save wipe at least, so unless you really love the survivalist aspect of the beginning, I'd wait a bit before investing too much time (but you should totally play it).
Bosses are pretty much broken now, but they removed weapons hitting through walls so you can't cheese them as easily (they still get stuck in walls and their AI shuts down). It'll be an amazing game once they land all the basics and number balancing, and then they'll be adding a bunch of crazy ass terraforming and planet busting stuff to go nuts with along with story quests unique to each race. |
