...but I just don't have enough hate in my heart for Telltale Games. I played Episode I of The Walking Dead, and yeah, it wasn't really a game, but it was short and free and I wasn't expecting to like it anyway. Compared to something like RAGE, which stole seven and a half of my dollars, fifteen hours of my time, and 100% of my remaining goodwill for id Software, The Walking Dead wasn't EVEN in the same league. I suppose I'd file Telltale's work in the same mental bucket as the Best of The Mentalist marathon I watched last weekend on MuchMusic (sidebar: what the fuck happened to MuchMusic??). If The Wolf Among Us is even a little bit better, I'm willing to give it a chance.
Speaking of games based on comics, this thread is probably as good a place as any to name my Marvel vs. Capcom Character of the Year 2013: Psylocke. I wasn't a Betsy Braddock fan back when I first played these games, because I was a fucking X-Men nerd who actually cared about things like backstory (hers only makes sense on a meta level, as in everything in her life happened because that's what Jim Lee felt like drawing that day) and personality (I couldn't tell if she was supposed to have two or none). Now, I think I have the maturity and perspective to appreciate Betsy for what she is: a hilariously sexualized swimsuit ninja, who doesn't just mentally rape her victims with "the focused totality of her telepathic powers", she literally skullfucks them with her glowing pink dick. I don't know if that's feminist or anti-feminist or what, but I do know she has a really great anti-air assist and an infinite versus Sentinel. So congratulations Psylocke, and possibly by extension all women everywhere?
