Sanitario666: You should get General Patton Vs The X-Ecutioners.
Ray of Light: that sounds like something you just made up

The X-ecutioners is some New York DJ outfit I know nothing about, but General Patton is Mike Patton about whom I know everything. MC Mike Patton? Not quite. Most of the tracks still come across as instrumentals with Patton being in Fantomas mode, squealing and sputtering, buried under effects until it sounds just another of the million samples that populate the mix. It's a natural fit to what the X-ecutioners compile, which I can summarize as sounding exactly how you expect four DJs to sound. Dense. I lack the hip hop vocabulary to describe the differences between these beats and other beats, other than telling you it often sounds like a busier RZA, which is great.

Patton's vocal experiments are also the weakness of the album just by virtue of how strong the rare Faith-No-More-mode Patton tracks sound. Like this sample track, "Get Up, Punk! 0200 hrs. (Joint Special Operations Task Force)". Fall in love with that, but realize it's 10% of the album.

It's also amusing to note that the store (SITE?!?!) where you get this will have it either as Mike Patton - General Patton vs X-ecutioners or X-ecutioners - General Patton vs the X-ecutioners. The latter is definitely more correct as it will please X-ecutioner fans more readily.
