Apple could probably have gotten 2 or 3 times as big as it is now if it had done to the Macintosh what it did to the iPhone. Refuse to provide even the most basic enterprise management tools that all its competitors provide? Great plan, that is exactly why every IT department is fighting BYOD policies as much as they can right now. Oh wait, when was the last time you saw an IT department? Wrong. Maybe that's what you see, but the general press is reporting that most places are in fact actively supporting BYOD.
That's not what is happening at most workplaces. Sorry.
The idea that BYOD is fought actively by IT is put paid by the near-death of Blackberry, which was the 'go to' device for IT department control and management. When was the last time an IT department gave people a company-assigned phone instead of letting them use theirs?
Oh boy.
I had no trouble finding work when I could walk and had no problems getting assignments. When you're wheelchair bound they see you as a liability or that you can't do the work of a non-disabled person and you're radioactive. The unemployment rate for the disabled is around 80%. And for anyone over 50 it's difficult because if you ask for less money, they figure you're not very good; ask for more and they can hire someone out of college for half as much, or, in some cases, just outsource their IT to cheaper countries.
I ask again, in the last 5 years how many people over 40 or in wheelchairs has your organization hired? I'll bet that number is zero.
Your wheelchair is the last reason why you'd have trouble getting work.
