| The town portion was my attempt at making an adventure game in the middle of my puzzle towers thing. I could easily make the entire town portion optional for a good/bad ending or even for a super secret sex room (which is already a thing in planning, you miss out by skipping tower puzzles). Maybe the queen tells you to solve the murder and the king just says whatever and gives you the second tower key as a passive aggressive move against his castrating wife.
I don't know how I'd feel about cutting that section completely, but I can totally understand how it could undermine the flow of the game and alienates people who aren't OCD enough to spacebar every nook and cranny over and over. Some people do get a kick out of that, but perhaps it's best not to design around a single type of player behavior. |
