I hope you all downloaded this when it was free, because it's the best thing I've played all year. It's also the first Magic game I've played since Sid Meier's version for Windows 95, though, so I'm definitely the wrong guy to try reviewing it. All I can tell you is that once you strip away the odious blind-buy business model (which is about as ethical as video poker, and twice as sad), Magic is actually a really fun card game with the most amazing graphics your mind can animate. It beats the shit out of Uno, at any rate.
And in case you missed it, the 2014 edition is currently half price as part of this week's Microsoft Studios sale (ends Wednesday). I was thinking about picking it up myself, but what if they decide to give this one away for free at some point, too? Then I'd be out five bucks! Looks like Microsoft's strategy of overdelivering on value has bitten them in the ass once again. v_v |
