So this game is definitely a neat idea. Unlike other indie things I hate it actually had rules, gameplay, and can even be difficult sometimes. It's almost like Proteus, but it has a little gameplay. It's a ok puzzler but still it's lacking that necessary structure for me to really enjoy it. Now I'm assuming I didn't miss something amazing here, but the mere mention of it being 'easy to spoil' spoiled the game for me. You can nearly instantly figure out that you have to plant seeds in your "respawn area" screen to move around there and find some kind of secret. Then you'll very quickly realize there are some 3 key locks that you need to open, and I guess somewhere after achieving the end of both screens you've "beaten" the game. It is very short, I guess I looked up the end on youtube, it's so fucking lame though I don't know if it's a faking ending or what. I definitely only have a desire to finish it to justify the 5 dollars I spent on it. What irritated me about the game is mainly that the 'secret' of it is so important but it's really not satisfying to figure out. Oh, my character looks like Gordon Freeman now ... well okay, I guess that means I just didn't look like Sub Zero at the start? Oh there are little messages oh okay? I can't see what's supposed to grab me! It just ends up majorly irritating as you're building a giant Rube Goldberg pillow fort to solve nothing and to achieve nothing. Even that ends up frustrating because your pieces are just based on RNG. This is probably one of those indie games that should have foregone the gameplay, instead you just have this stupid mash up of Tetris and Minecraft, but without the merits of either. |
