| No shit, the greatest space 4x game ever.
"But pinback, you're a fucking idiot, so its streamlined, planet-management-by-sliders gameplay is suited to you!" Yes. I am a retard, and so this sort of game appeals to me. I think when I first tried it, I THOUGHT it was complicated and gave up, but now I realize it is for babies, and it is great. The map... The 3D star map... There is nothing more beautiful in the history of games, including SOTS2, which did away with many of the vibrant colors which make this great. I cannot get over the star map. That's the main reason I play, because being in that map makes me happy. The last time I felt that way was Star Control 1 which nobody remembers because of Star Control 2, but it was the first time I'd seen an honest-to-goodness 3D star map and it made me drool. So there's some personal bias here. That being: LIKES 3D STAR MAPS, LIKES GAME FOR IDIOTS. So it took 8 years, but SOTS is pretty much my favorite thing ever now. Commence trashing me. |
