Well, in a way you are correct. I think that 99% of the time, when people use "Duh" on the Internet, the reality is that they are the dumbest person in the conversation. I think it shows a lot of arrogance. Because yeah, nobody is putting vanilla Minecraft in a box and asking $60 for it. That's not what any of it is about.

However...

I suspect you are laboring under a misunderstanding. Or maybe I am.


Having taken my shots, I now truly do want to understand the dustup. Which you pretty much explained. Actually, let me tell you what seems to be going on, and if I have in incorrect then I'll know better.

- Mojang hosts Minecraft servers.
- Regular people also host Minecraft servers.
- The people hosting these servers take payments for hosting.
- The people hosting these servers also create mods? And charge for the mods? (Or is there a pretty good separation between people hosting servers and mod-makers? I guess I don't know.)
- Mojang doesn't want people making money off mods. Whatever, this is a fine and probably legal stance to take, though id wouldn't have cared.


Is that mostly correct?
