Here is some idiot on Reddit talking about what it's like to work for Uber.

Ya--although what I am used to is different then people coming from organizations similar to the current size or value of Uber at this current point in time. This is my 3rd start up-- where the first 2 were extremely grueling and didnt have nearly the up and to the right growth that Uber has right now.

I honestly believe this is gonna be the next google or facebook--- and now is the time that its is the most awesome to be here. Though it would have been wild I would have loved to see it before we even got to this size.
If you are coming from a big company--- like Amex or GE or whatever--- the roles & growth track arent as well defined, but what you give up in structure you get back in autonomy. I have more "power to create" here than anyone in the more corporate firms. Some people just arent willing to give that up because its scary not to have a few years out planned in your career-- so it's just not for them.

Ya they treat us well. Perks are insane. I took a pay cut from my previous role to be here--- but end up taking more money home for racing because I no longer need a car and all my food/benefits/ammenities are taken care of

The next "google or facebook" or, you know, pets.com.
