Stick of Truth is pretty enjoyable so far by fabio 12/01/2014, 8:11pm PST Did you like what Costume Quest tried to do but didn't like the "totally tedious, overly simplistic, and repetitive" part? Stick of Truth renders CQ so obsolete that it probably reaches around and knocks out Broken Age in the same punch. Gameplay looks exactly like an episode from the show. I'm glad that they keep everything looking like shitty homemade LARP props at all times instead of using the power of IMAGINATION to make everything look huge and awesome like in boring waste of time Costume Quest. I was going to say that combat is good enough for the simplistic and shallow approach they were going for, but honestly? I'm having more fun and making more decisions than I ever did with that horrendous mess of Dragon Age Origins. Just be sure to jack the difficulty level to max if you want any challenge. Couple complaints: GAMEPLAY- You get a fuckton of worthless junk where its only purpose is to be sold, but there's no way to sell all of it at once. You have to sell it one at a time, moving your mouse back and forth from the item to the sell button every time instead of just double clicking or using a hotkey. There are dozens and dozens of junk items and they're such a pain to sell that I gave up trying and just let them accumulate. They also should have gone with a full party instead of Main character + one helper buddy LIKE FUCKING NOT EVEN WORTH $2 GODDAMN COSTUME QUEST. Which leads to... STORY- The mute protagonist is such a shitty tired trope that it sucks even as a parody. I mean, it's better writing than a Bioware game but I haven't laughed once yet. Would have been better if the four boys formed a playable party from the start. It would work better from a gameplay perspective and story so every cutscene isn't just a one-sided conversation with the mute protagonist. Definitely worth the sale price. People are seriously playing a $60 Bioware game instead of this right now?
