| Gone Home was terrible. It got as much press as it did because the developers were friends with scumbag journos.
That's it. That's enough, but that's it. You know have guys like the Adventure Gamer admin thinking, "Well, shit. If these influential journos loved it so much, I'm going to look like a real asshole if my site doesn't fall in line. Gone Home was GREAT! Fuck what the USERS OF MY SITE say." Outstanding. Dudes a million miles from the corruption arguing with passion that Gone Home was a deep, important, amazing adventure game with an awesome twist. Because he doesn't know any better. (OK, might be a bit harsh. Gone Home is a C- first effort. There's nothing wrong with it, but it was slightly below average for its genre. That made it over rated, that made it shitty.) |
