I got close to giving up but I didn't in the end.by Worm 12/27/2014, 6:28pm PST
UI sucks, MMO combat is in full effect, for some reason has Freemium War Map, has jumping puzzles, has normal puzzles, has random Skyrim shit that feels like it shouldn't be there. Though I'm sticking with it because the characters and a lot of the story stuff is fun, it's just the pacing that is all fucked up. Of course I'm a long time MMO player so I have a pretty good resistance to tedium.
I can't really complain about Sera being a lesbian since my major issue with DA2 was everyone being bisexual. The count is (based on IGN's guide) 3 Straight Males, 1 Straight Female, 1 Bi Female, 1 Bi Male, 1 Gay Male, and 1 Gay Female. I guess I can live with that, but definitely you're missing out on a ton of fucking for not being a female. Josephine is cute enough for me to not care where she comes from. I felt like they generally did a good job with certain people sounding like Gambit and other people not sounding like Gambit.
I am NOT playing in tactical mode. I'm treating it like KOTOR with real time combat and having fun. It's not amazingly deep, but I never felt Dragon Age combat was ever good. Even Origin's combat I hated. At least in Inquisition I can set the other characters on auto pilot and play my little MMO combat simulator. Only taking control to cast a dispel or taunt when needed. I feel like the best thing is just to ignore the additional shit. I only started into doing the puzzles or gathering fragments once I got invested in the game. There shouldn't be much stopping you from zerging the main story.
It seems like you're a little further than me, but I dunno what to tell you, maybe reroll as a female Qunari mage who fucks everything that moves?
Me? I'm playing a dwarf with a wonderful overbite.
