Super stripped down strategic and tactical portions of XCom.
Ugly graphics, poor performance, hideous color scheme that's halfway between saturated orange/blue and muddy modern FPS.
There's supposed to be a lot of planning with the marriage traits, but everything requires two more clicks than it should to find out and you end up just not caring.
Two-thirds of the classes are useless. The ranged class can shoot across the map, can stealth, has roughly the same health/damage/hit% stats as the melee classes, and half the enemies explode on death. The entire marriage aspect is trying to breed out the melee classes to produce only hunters.
The enemies are either inconsequential or total bullshit. The melee enemies are weak. The ranged enemies strip XP, do more damage to everyone in a line, have the most HP, and can only be harmed by one attack per turn.
There is zero story. It makes the plot to XCom's campaign seem like Deus Ex by comparison. The only dialog is from the Chalice's 2 personalities and they are painfully unfunny. They try to be sentimental and funny at the same time. This sort of worked with Defense Grid's computer butler, but here it's ruined by having 2 characters with endless unfunny one-upping lines. They're both in the exact same voice, why not just make it one character?
