Here.

It's like the redheaded stepchild of Arcen games -it only received 3 patches- but in my opinion it's their most successful game.

It's a tactical roguelike about customizable mechs with the usual arcen hallmarks of awful graphics and music that runs the gamut from hilariously awful to really catchy.

The premise is a robot uprising is happening in a future megacity and you have X amount of missions before the final battle to either upgrade your own mechs or sabotage the enemy army. It's a grid-based tactical combat scenario where your one mech must navigate a technofuture warren outnumbered and outgunned by malfunctioning robots and take them out piece by piece with a combination of stealth and tactics. Missions are presented on the city map as a matrix of interconnected waypoints and beating missions is as much an exercise in scouting and trailblazing to identify the truly important ones as they are a mad scramble for pieces of upgrade equipment for your mechs.

The thing that will throw you for a loop is while you have 4 mechs, they're functionally equivalent to combat stances. Switching between mechs involves taking a turn to teleport one mech out and replace it with another one. The story excuse for this is you're the only pilot left alive in the city.

The one thing that might be make or break for you is the main weapons of your mechs are hard set and the equipment you pick up in the mission slots into those weapons like Diablo gems. There are four missions on the map to upgrade each of your mechs to their epic configuration which adds additional weapons and equipment slots.

It took me a while to get into it, but I love tactical dungeon crawlers like DROD or TOME that don't bother with food and complicated interfaces. YMMV, but once again, it's free!
