Random thoughts while trying to play Wizardry 7, which has aged very, very poorly in some respects:
* I don't like it when a game, in character creation, asks for the character's name first. Especially since I may not keep the character, and I won't know in advance what the portrait looks like. Does this bother anyone else?
* HOLEEE SHIT the opening. I think I hit "Esc" to advance the absolutely insipid text 100 times. I can't believe this was ever acceptable.
* If someone knows how to run it through Steam, but windowed, I would love to know how you did it.
* Picking spells when you create your character is incomprehensible to me.
* Another UI tweak would be seeing all the possible classes. Ghost them out if need be.
* Another UI tweak would be giving us something about the different races so we have some info to go on.
I would like to know other thoughts from other people on this, thank you. To me, the only playable CRPGs in this style, in ${CURRENT_YEAR} are the first two Bard's Tales, the first Wizardry and then Devil Whiskey. I would really, really love to be able to play others.
