Hong Kong Extended Edition's out. Your thoughts? by MM 02/05/2016, 10:47am PST
I have to be honest. I tried, but I couldn't get into Dragonfall. The setting of the flux state made no goddamn sense to me. On one hand it's a complete anarchy where there are no municipal services and local communities are responsible for the upkeep of their own infrastructure, on the other hand megacorporations have huge state of the art towers and research facilities and if the lease is paid on one of these buildings, nobody's gonna fuck with it until the lease expires? What?

I also didn't like how anemic the choice and effects of cyberware were, even in the director's cut.

So I've been waiting for the director's cut of Hong Kong, which promises to take place in the neon-soaked megacorporation dominated techno dystopia I imagined while playing the PnP as a kid, now with better combat mechanics.

So what's the verdict on this one? I know someone here was annoyed by liberalism in the game's politics, but as long as it's not Divinity Dragon Commander bad I can live with it. How is the combat, also?
