Any real fight for ethics in game journalism would be less about improper disclosure — which is a minor fuck-up in the grand scheme of things — and more about, say, the way big publishers treat game outlets as their marketing arms. Or the way systemic issues including low pay and poor treatment have made games journalism a mostly unsustainable career that many people just see as a path to PR or game development.
