Especially considering he loved Gone Home.

I was expecting the slightest bit of detective work here. Catching her in a lie? Some aspects of her story not matching up?

Nope. You just keep doing keyword searches based on things she says to try and bring up new 4-60 second clips. It's very very easy to stumble across THE BIG TWIST early on based on a keyword near one of the starting clips.

All difficulty is artificial. For some reason this police database (running Windows 3.1 in what has to be at least the mid 00s if not the present) won't let you just watch all the clips in chronological order, only by keyword search results. Plus only the first 5 results are shown. Between the search limit and a total lack of keywords for some clips, I have no clue how you're supposed to see them all without using a very shoddy exploit that just lets you watch all clips in order. Most clips are a complete waste of time (separate clips for every single yes/no answer to a polygraph test, and you don't get to hear the questions. What's the point?)

The woman in the July interviews is a "different" person than the woman in the June interviews. She says she's the identical twin of the first woman and their midwife secretly raised her as her own after they thought she died at birth. Then the twin went over to her sister's house and for TEN YEARS they would switch off playing her one at a time while the other lived in the attic. However it's left stupidly ambiguous on whether this is true or the split personality of a delusional girl obsessed with fairy tales.
