Well, I don't think it's shit for starters. :)

I have some reservations about The Bard's Tale IV. I think that when the Kickstarter spokespeople started talking about not having save anywhere they exhibited a sort of tone-deafness that I'm seeing cross over into some of the mechanics and presentation of the game.

The pleasure of The Bard's Tale, at least in the first one, was that you would walk around a city (and to my knowledge, Skara Brae was one of the first maps in a game that really felt like a city, in terms of how it was put together) and suddenly, instsantly there would be combat.

I'm seeing stuff in BT4 where the camera shifts from the first person view to this grid-like layout and we see our party members in 3D and... I don't know, man. You know what it's like? The whole "XCOM" thing. They used the name X-COM, but it is a different game. A great, great many people like it. Hell, I "like" it, just not as much as X-COM, which is all we wanted, but with better graphics and UI. I think the same thing is gonna go on with BT4.

Wasteland 2 was pretty much the game Wasteland could have been, in terms of presentation and moving dudes around the screen. I'm excited to see what Wasteland 3 will be like. The guy in that video looks a little cartoony, but I can accept that.

OK, now, please give me your favorite memory from a Bard's Tale game. And welcome to Caltrops!
