Bloodborne: The Card Game is surprisingly decent by fabio 09/10/2017, 12:39pm PDT
Everyone plays a hunter with starting equipment. A deck of random monsters are flipped over one at a time and everyone secretly chooses a card to play that turn which are flipped over at once. A point is awarded for every point of damage you inflict, with a bonus for inflicting damage on the turn a monster dies.

But it's not a co-op since only one person with the most points at the end wins. It becomes a push your luck game trying to predict what card the other players are going to play. Some do less damage, but inflict that damage before other weapons, unless someone else played the same card in which case the instant effect is canceled. Do you play it? Do you try a higher damage card hoping the monster will still be alive when the order gets to you? Or do you play it safe and rest that round to refill your health, refresh all your cards, and choose an upgrade? Resting means you're not inflicting damage that round, but resting also banks your points and all unbanked points are lost if you die. Cards eventually come up that really let you screw over players

It's presented as this combat game based on an action video game, but really the theme could be anything. It could just as easily be a treasure hunting game trying to beat everyone to grabbing the loot first.

It's a simple game you can explain in less than 5 minutes and runs quick at 30-60 minutes. Fairly cheap at only $35. Decent addition if you want a simple fast game.
