| Best Worst Movie was a look at the fandom of Troll 2, but the entire time you're thinking, "Why aren't I just watching Troll 2 instead?" Because it's more entertaining to watch the so bad it's good movie than hear grandstanding nerds talk about how so bad it's good it is.
The Disaster Artist is a look at Tommy Wiseau and his making of The Room. The entire time watching the trailer you're thinking, "Why not just watch The Room?" But at least Best Worst Movie had actual deluded trainwreck people on camera. Why would I want to watch actors reenacting it instead of the real people? Watching Tommy Wiseau do a Q&A while high off huffing is hilarious. Watching James Franco pretend to be Tommy Wiseau acting out a scripted Q&A scene isn't. Can we just declare Freaks & Geeks a disaster area and quarantine the alumni already? |
