I suppose the Transformers movies are a $4 billion enterprise beloved by...someone?...I just wish they weren't so dumb. The original animated series was so much better than it needed to be; the films are...not better than they need to be, I'll put it like that.
I took my nephew to see the last one. It was his choice for what movie. The last one was totally incomprehensible from start to finish and three? four hours long.
There's a scene in the film where Megatron is trying to negotiate the release of a bunch of Decepticons from jail. There is a human lawyer on the other side saying no no nonono of course we can't let Thundercracker out of jail, he's a blah blahblah. Experiencing this awfulness in the theater, the movie was so fucking terrible I know I was personally hoping that Megatron would arrange for the release of James Holmes.
