I have no idea what the "DRM nonsense" on Steam is supposed to even be by Fullofkittens 02/10/2018, 10:35am PST
Yeah I get that Steam is handling the DRM of the games I use it to manage and install, that's one of the things I like about it. I also realize there's probably some kind of hippie argument against having the platform you bought a game on having control over whether you can keep playing it, in theory. In practice Steam is the best thing to ever happen to me, game management-wise. It knows which games I own and it lets me install them on any computer. I don't have to manage any discs or license keys or any of that shit, I get a new computer and I can just have my games. It's great! In a lot of cases my new computer even knows where I left off!

Contrast that with all my music shit where I either have to remember a login for every vendor in the goddamn world so that I can go through some OAuth-esque login shit in the app so that it can tell me that I have 1 of 3 installations remaining, or pick through my old email to figure out what the license code was when they sent it to me. That shit is terrible compared to Steam.
