Realize that creationists like Pence don't believe we have to prepare for the future because God and/or Jesus is going to come back, destroy the world anyway, and build a new one all over again. The far-end example of the results of this sort of thinking is the 89-year-old man who sold everything he had to buy advertising for Harold Camping's prediction that the world was going do end May 21, 2011. When the world did not end, the man became inconsolable when he realized he is now an 8-year-old man who is broke.

Consider "regular damage" that a jackass like Pence might do vs "extraordinary damage" that a guy as dumb and authoritarian as Trump can do /is doing. Politicizing the Justice Department and trying to turn it into a tool to go after political opponents: Trump, not Pence. Devaluing the media -- every President gets sad that journalists report on them, but this war on the press is beyond the pale. Gutting the State Department and trying to undermine NATO and the UN and generally throw actual diplomacy performed by diplomats in the garbage? Trump, not Pence. This is a big deal. It may be a few years to see the effects, but they'll come home to us regular people at some point.

I feel like people who say that Pence is worse are just not thinking this through. Would anyone be talking about tackling the President and taking away the nuclear football if a regular evil idiot like Pence was in charge? Trump is uniquely terrible and dangerous.
