This is what James Bond looks like
You're not the first I've heard to see James Bond as a sociopath. I'm guessing that his saving grace is while he's bad, the people he is sent after are worse. In the 1963 movie Goldfinger, Bond uses his seduction tricks plus pure force to essentially rape Pussy Galore - who is almost certainly a lesbian - but the power of his boner turns her over to his side.

when you are emotionally stunted and trapped in an non compliant meatsack while addicted to massive amounts of sugary beverages. A lot of famous writers were addicted to much worse things. I think Dr. Hunter S. Thompson didn't know a needle drug he wouldn't want to try, and Aldux Huxley used LSD when writing Brave New World.

Sadly I can't say this wouldn't be wildly successful if published. The first movie to "push it to eleven" wasn't Spinal Tap, it was the first Death Wish where the very first rape scene was over the top, especially when it wasn't going to be an ordinary rape, but a much more painful and terrifying anal rape.
In the movie S.O.B. a writer-director is explaining how if you want the audience to emphasize with others or understand how bad something is you make the victim sympathetic , or highlight the worst parts,"If you're going to show the evils of prostitution, you corrupt a virgin, not a whore."
Done right, half the audience is saddened and disgusted, and the other half is titillated, but they're all talking about your book!
