Is Injustice 2... good? by Ice Cream Jonsey 06/29/2018, 8:40am PDT I wish I had started Tesla vs Lovecraft but I bankrupted the fuck around funds from my checking account this month so that had to wait until payday. What I actually played for a couple hours the last 2 nights was Injustice 2. I ... I don't know. I think it might be good. It SHOULD suck: it's a barren uterus of micro transactions and pay-DLC. It's a fighting game, which is a bit rough in terms of how genres go. (For me, fighting games and RTS games peaked in the mid 90s and I just don't see the innovation there that others plainly, clearly do. Generations of kids and entire nations enjoy them, so I know it's me.) But I like the alternate reality stuff in comic books, like Kingdom Come. Kingdom Come does not have a lot to say about anything other than the comics industry. But because I know all these people and characters I like(d) it. And the same thing is going on here with Injustice 2, where Superman became a bad guy. One other thing: for years I have wanted a Green Arrow game. Shooting guys in the face with arrows while quipping has been pretty impossible. The first few missions in this game has you playing as Batman, which works and then Harley Quinn for two fights which is understandable, you gotta throw something to the con goers. But the next three fights you get to pick between Green Arrow and Black Canary. This is the best implementation of Green Arrow I've seen in games -- I desperately want Jerry to tell me that there's a good GA game I've never heard of, mind you, but it feel like Ollie shooting people. (I did choose Black Canary for the fight against Gorilla Grodd and they do a great thing with her scream where they mimic in the game's audio temporary deafness and a ringing in the ears. Pretty cool.) I think Injustice 2 is good. Change my mind? ICJ
