Yeah there are DB9 to DB15 connectors... but odds are they aren't going to match correctly, as they were intended for a programming port or cga/rgb video. Regrettably, the pinout diagram calls for a resistor though so it might not work with just a rewired cable or screw terminal board anyway.

I eventually paid for a joystick made by a dude in Korea, we'll see how that goes.
