Not a very high speed impact, but it did a fair bit of damage. Someone ran the red and not quite t-boned the car going through already. Left front to right front impact.
I was on the way home from mcdonalds with my gf and we were about to go through an intersection 2 blocks from my house . . . the light was green and a white car was moving through toward us. Suddenly it was nailed from the right side by a blue honda fit (I think). It was literally 10 feet in front of us. Both cars had airbags deploy, but the white car's airbag was the passenger side, and I don't think that helped the driver much. (Maybe the driver side deployed too, I'm not sure.) In any event, she was hurt and freaking out. Blue car ricocheted off and, unable to see with the airbag in her face, she drove into the curb. Did she have functioning brakes? Anyway, we called 911 and my gf (who is a cna) went to reassure and help the white car driver as best she could. I moved my car off the road, then stood around eating an ice cream cone, trying to stay out of the way of the EMTs who showed up. Then we gave our statements to the cops and went home. |
