There was some sort of Twitter meme going around where people were listing all the stuff they needed to know if they were TRULY trying to become an expert in their field. You can't ever do it without becoming so poorly rounded that everyone thinks you're trash. So nobody does it. I thought of that when I played Choplifter for the Apple //c - it's different in a lot of ways than the Atari 800 version I've played for years.
The Apple // version is speedy. It doesn't have the rampant slow down I see on the 800. It goes from being a great game on the 800 (I had it in the late 80s-90s all time in a spreadsheet I keep) to easily the 50s. The Apple // version has a kind of fluid nature to it. I regret not playing it before now. I'll attach a screenshot tomorrow.
