The Padding of Boring House. Four Hours of Material but They Gave Us Ten House by Rafiki 11/20/2018, 8:38pm PST
1st episode: good, got me hooked enough to want to see what happens
Episodes 2-6: alternating between pissed off and dying of boredom waiting for them to just get to the goddamn house already. Hours and hours of backstory about events I don't care about. Relationship montages to fill as much time as possible
7-9: excruciatingly drawn out scenes leading to the conclusion, interspersed with flashbacks to explain cryptic events from 4 episodes ago, and moments that want SO BAD to be heartwarming
10: a conclusion that was never going to save the show and doesn't

You know the other horror movie trope i hate besides people being irrationally stupid just to move the plot forward? Characters withholding information because SUSPENSE and so the writers don't have to think too hard about how their characters are going to navigate the story. Nobody tells each other shit (in the present; their whole lives), and finally in episode 6 or 7 when everyone comes together and they FINALLY start discussing what's happening for five seconds, the show creates a distraction and they all stop talking about it forever. Even important things like "a major character didn't actually kill themselves." After the distraction goes away, they don't stop and say, "hey, remember 10 minutes ago when you said they DIDN'T commit suicide? What was that about?" It's just back to pensive trepidation and avoiding saying anything of value about the plot. The show even goes so far as to have a character outright say, "Oh, so we're really not going to tell them what we saw?" And when someone else is on the phone, that same character says, "Tell them what just happened!" And of course they don't. Why tell each other anything? Then they'd have to write the characters confronting what's going on.

Also, every building has the biggest rooms in the history of architecture. Rooms the size of stadiums, hallways you could drive a train through. Not just Resident Evil, but everywhere.
