Besides the take away that Diablo IV is actually being developed, the bigger one for me was that it is the Blizzard developers themselves that are driving the creation of these shitty mobile games. Sure, Blizzard as a larger entity is likely in on it, but apparently the usual games they produce have become formulaic enough (and honestly, if you've been on WoW for a decade, you probably want to do something else) that mobile is a ray of sunshine. Which from the sound of it, would make canning anything that much harder as it is essentially an outlet for their rank and file.

The other thing that caught my attention, was that they completely disbanded their Diablo development group after the release of the first and only expansion for D3 because they felt the game itself was a failure, leaving a rough path to the obvious continuation of the series. And what did that get them? Losing a significant portion of the Diablo development team, no direction for D4, and another seven year development cycle.
