A scant one decade after purchase, my PC has started blue screening on wakeup. by Dream Cast 11/26/2018, 4:14pm PST
Right now my troubleshooting plan is to throw it out and buy a new one, preferably something compact, silent, and low wattage. No moving parts would be ideal. I'm leaning towards Wintel just because that's what I'm familiar with, and even though budget is theoretically unlimited, I'd obviously rather not spend any more than I have to. Is there a better choice for me than one of these? Should I also be looking at Macs and Chromeboxes? Is something way better on the horizon? There's no rush, I'm sure I could get at least another year or two out of my current computer, if necessary. For reference, the most demanding application I use is Google Maps in a browser window, and all my precious data is already sitting on an external hard drive. Any advice would be appreciated.
