Why even develop a game using IP that is under legal action? by RetroRomper 01/06/2019, 9:51pm PST
That is the one thing I don't understand: why did Stardock (Brad essentially) even decide to develop a game using the Star Control IP while it was being actively litigated? Short of the guy being a complete and utter pompous ass (which his private correspondence about shutting down star-control.com, its forums and his "counter offer" would suggest,) how does that make any sort of business sense? Even the Judge called him out on it... He could have had his people make ANY OTHER GAME until all of this was finalized - a new IP, maybe another expansions to Sins of a Solar Empire, whatever, just... None of it makes sense.
