The gameplay is NOT as choppy as it appears in this trailer. It's a smooth 60fps. However you may need to run the Large Address Aware utility to avoid a crash near the end of the game. Don't start with Ys: Origin, it's meant for players with experience playing Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Felghana is the better overall experience, especially the soundtrack. That said, Origin has the best gameplay of the entire Ys series. Everything that Made Oath in Felghana good with all the rough edges sanded off. Plus a new character with a totally different fighting style. So fast, so chaotic, yet so simple to control. I've heard people put this game in their top 10 all time action game lists and I'm hard-pressed to disagree. Such a pity Ys VII and VIII introduced blocking and ruined the game's emphasis on moving all over the battlefield at high speed. |
