It's a fantasy version of Into the Breach by the Legend of Grimrock people, but with expansive hand-crafted levels instead of tight randomly-generated ones. Your starting trio is a fighter, a healer with a bow, and a wizard. They have one move and one action per round, and they can use their remaining movement points after taking an action. Special moves can only be used a limited amount of times per map. Mousing over enemies gives their movement range and basic stats. Your attacks are RNG-free auto-hits, but chest items and enemy behavior is randomly generated so the maps aren't always the same. Maps can be replayed with a -50% XP penalty to finish optional objectives in return for upgrade gems. The upgrade gems plug into your abilities identically to the upgrade cores of Into the Breach. There's also supposed to be an equipment shop but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far! |
