Time for getting into the holiday spirit, so I decided to buy this game about torture, dismemberment and your father's huge fucking axe. The Executioner
It's all text discriptions. And there's no saving, and I can't even figure out how to quit. This is when it saves. You can skill up and sleep and save when the new day starts, I guess.
Plenty of reading to read in between reading.
You click through the story, and it will sometimes give you these kind of decisions:
The music is good, playing along as you read the text. It's not pure text though, the interface has three other modes. Here's map mode, where you select where to travel.
You can also get into a encounters, or your main job, the torture interface.
I figured out you should keep it on the log tab as go along torturing, otherwise if doesn't pop anything up telling you you got a confession or when you get clues whatever.
The victim has a red and blue bar, for health and mind. They die or go insane if either goes to zero. Both bars slowly regenerate, as you look up top to keep tabs on how much time you have left, then pick your torture. You can't just concentrate on one bar only, seems both have to be low to get an answer, both mind & body, then you're fighting your own stamina running out as well. You can let the assistant guy take over while you rest. There's a story going on in this game though, so I get the feeling shouldn't trust that assistant guy fully. You learn a lot in the tutorial, how you got this horrible job: your father falsely accused of treason and sentenced to death. Your character always knows when someone is lying, so you know he's innocent. The games changes the color of the text when somebody lies even, so he's innocent! Anyway so it's the family job then, to torture confessions from people and put them to death. Great, I'm in! Come on pops.
Son, did I ever mention how I met your mother?
Anyway it's still on sale. |
