Darcos 11/14/2019, 7:29pm PST I did not drive because I did not own a car, could not afford to finance one, and could not afford car insurance. Now maybe I'd have driven without insurance (it wasn't illegal in California then, and in fact when I had a car and could not afford to renew my insurance (the premiums were as much as my car cost) I drove uninsured for a couple of years) but not being able to afford a car was the real problem.
