They did kind of touch on that in the scene where Hoffa is talking to the crowd about all the good things the union negotiated. It’s implied he had a role in those things. Also, it’s pretty clear that his successors are depicted as corrupt and self-serving. So Hoffa good, later leaders bad (according to the movie.)
Hoffa does come off as kind of thuggish and narcissistic, though. He’s better than the mob guys, but... well... |
