Am I right in understanding that all of these fancy new security cameras/systems work by routing the video through the company's servers at all times? It seems absolutely insane to me that people are comfortable with the possibility that someone at Amazon (or even some shady outfit in the PRC) could be watching them in their own private home at any moment, but then I felt the same way about "smart speakers" and "digital assistants." I guess this isn't that huge of a leap beyond that. Ring just made the news as well:
