Yeah I was the same way, played maybe more like three and a half hours before uninstalling. I hated it, was on rails.
I also remember it was back when I still bought games on CDs, and I picked it up on release. I went to give my brother my copy, and he and already bought it, which was rare. But then he ended up being really into this game. He likes Diablo and all the Diablo clones, so I dunno you might like it like a lot of people did. He told me I was thinking about it wrong, said it was playing a party based game where you play it like it's one character or something. I remember the graphics were pretty.
It may be worth picking this game up just for the Ultima V: Lazarus mod. I ended up reinstalling for that and had a great time with it, spending over a hundred hours on it so I got my money's worth finally.
I started 1 and 3 over lunch...
3 has this "shiny" aspect to the graphics that I can't stand. I don't have the vocabulary to describe it, but I detest games that look this way. One of the Divinity games look like it, as does Civ 6. Shiny? Cartoony, but not like Cuphead? I don't know. It's awful. It looks like generic slop to me.
I thought #1 was pixel graphics but it's post-Quake square heads and somehow slightly more charming.
(An aside, my memory was that DS1 and FarCry had AWESOME graphics and holy shit, coming back to them do they look terrible.)
