Not sure what to expect here, these Flying Wild Hog games always look fantastic in action, but when playing them there's a jankiness to the AI that drives me crazy, like monsters that instantly sidestep when you mouse over them with the crosshairs, or heavies that automatically dodge rockets. Also there wasn't really any strategy to the guns in SW1 (2013) where a certain type of gun counters a certain type of enemy (ie. coach gun vs Kleer Skeleton in Serious Sam). I just used the lastest fully-upgraded gun until it ran out of ammo, then the next latest and they were all fine for every situation.
Shadow Warrior 2 is my favorite of their work because it's also an ARPG and a lot of combat jankiness can be forgiven in an ARPG because you're trying to break the game with your own perfect build anyway. And since a major part of the RPG builds was gemming your weapons for specific elements to counter enemy elemental weaknesses, you had a gameplay system driving weapon-switching even if the differences between unmodified weapons were slight.
The SW2 previews highlighted the ARPG elements, I see none of that in this trailer. If Serious Sam 4 turns out as good as I'm hoping, and SW3 is a return to the 2013 original's formula, I just may skip this one.
