| Everything I liked about Gladius, Planetfall does way better and prettier. And it's now "done" with only 3 DLC/expansions.
The biggest difference between Planetfall and Gladius is Planetfall has combat happening in instanced maps using all army stacks (up to 6 units per hex) adjacent to the attacked hex. Gladius combat happens directly on the strategic map. The 40K tactical combat is better in Sanctus Reach than Gladius. A well-placed flamer barrage can completely shift the tide of battle in that game. Sadly the production values are terrible in that one. And the 40K lore and coolness factor is much much better in Mechanicus, even if the gameplay is mediocre. |
